
Common Admission Test is also popularly known as the CAT exam. It is conducted at the national level by IIMs for admission to PG courses in top business schools. The test is highly competitive and prestigious in nature. CAT test is followed by group discussions and personal interviews for securing an admission seat. The CAT exam is normally held in the month of November at various test centers in India.

Common Admission Test Eligibility
Candidate should have had a bachelor’s degree at least with 50% marks. And 45% marks for SC and ST candidates. The eligibility conditions may vary from institute to institute.
CAT Syllabus
Although there is no defined syllabus for the CAT exam. It is conducted to assess the natural ability of aspiring candidates. Yet the majority of questions are asked from the following subjects:
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Verbal and Reading Comprehension
Pattern of CAT exam
The exam has three sections. Students need to complete in 3 hours. After you completed 1 hour, the test will automatically move to the next section. Candidates cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions.

The application fees for various categories is as follows:
- For General/OBC – Rs.1900/-
