TARGET SSC CGL 2020

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts many exams to recruiting staff to various posts in ministries, departments and organizations of the Government of India. Established in 1975, the SSC has been instrumental in selecting staff for various Group B and Group C posts.

Before beginning the preparation for the exam, candidates should look at the SSC and BANK examination procedure as follows:-

Tier I: Preliminary

The exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 sections with about a 100 questions in total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes.

Penalty of Wrong Answer: There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut off. No point will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted by a candidate.

Tier II: Mains Exam

Also known as the Mains Exam, the Tier II exam consists of online objective multiple-choice exam, in two sections covering the subjects of:

Tier III exam: Descriptive Paper

A pen-and-paper “offline” exam in which candidates are to do writing in the form of essay writing and letter writing, and sometimes précis and application writing. The exam can be done in English or Hindi.

Tier IV exam: Data Entry Skill Test / Computer Proficiency Test

SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. It will be conducted in two steps: DEST Test & CPT Test.

DEST: Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s writing skills.

CPT: This test is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Generation of Slides.

SSC Eligibility 2020 – The criteria for SSC Eligibility is set by the Staff Selection Commission. The recruitment of candidates happens once they fulfil the desired SSC eligibility criteria like Nationality, educational details, Age Limit for SSC exams

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen. For migrated candidates, they must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT.

SSC Age Limit:-The SSC Age limit for the posts is 18-27 years.

Qualification:-Educational Qualifications for SSC CGL (as on 01-01-2020)

Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus

Quantitative Aptitude questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work,Percentage. General Intelligence and Reasoning Syllabus

General Intelligence and Reasoning includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.

General Awareness Syllabus

Questions in this section will be aimed at testing the candidates’ general awareness (GK+GS) of the environment around him and its application to society.
